'Jay Z has some of the sickest lyrics ever, but I would never buy his CD, just because of my age and because of his age.'
For Young Thug, rap has an age limit.
“I don’t want to rap forever… I don’t want to be 50 years old and rapping, man. I’m pretty sure nobody wants to do that,” Thug, 22-years old, told GQ magazine.
The rapper continued to focus on Jay Z, 45-years old, specifically: “I’m pretty sure Jay Z don’t wanna rap right now.”
Thug believes that after a certain age, young people don’t listen to a rapper’s music: “If you’re 30, 40 years old, you’re not getting listened to by minors. Like, Jay Z has some of the sickest lyrics ever, but I would never buy his CD, just because of my age and because of his age. By the time I turn that old, I ain’t gonna be doing what he’s doing.”
It seems as if Thug won’t be buying a Jay Z album because of the difference in their age, despite his “sickest lyrics ever.”
And don’t expect for Young Thug to get rid of “Young” from his name. “I don’t think I’m gonna drop it, ’cause I want to be forever young.” But! If he had to, he’d change it to “Jeff the Rapper,” which is what his little niece calls him.
Thug’s focus is to be “rich forever.” He hopes to be like Bill Gates “with all the money in the world,” and a career like Lil’ Wayne or Michael Jackson.
