Anyone wondering about Rihanna’s look in those promo photos for her new collaboration with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, “FourFiveSeconds,” need look no further than Mr. West.
As we see in a behind-the-scenes video of their music video shoot for the track, from which the single art was grabbed, West was fully hands on in directing Rihanna’s wardrobe.

“This is the first song that my fans are going to hear from the new album, and the first visual that they see,” Rihanna says in the clip. “Kanye came up with the idea of doing just some real street denim all American type look.”
Along with footage from the actual video itself, the video shows West and Rihanna in a studio space checking out some different pieces of clothing and landing on the all-denim style fans now know.

“This is actually his jacket that is some Sean John throwback Vintage jacket that is f—ing major,” she says. “That’s the look, that’s the fashion tip. Denim never goes out of style; it’s classic, it’s iconic — just like the f—ing Beatles.”
Of course West’s involvement in styling the shoot shouldn’t come as any major surprise, as he’s been focusing on fashion for some time now. But with this being the first image of Rihanna’s new album, as she said, it’s impressive she and her people would place so much confidence in West’s vision.
