When two divas get together, magical things can happen (see: Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston‘s “There Can Be Miracles” live performance).
So expectations were sky-high when Beyonce and Shakira joined forces for “Beautiful Liar,” which was released to radio today in 2007. Peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song was nominated for best pop collaboration with vocals at the Grammys, in addition to other awards.

“We always say how much we respect each other and we want to do a song together, and after a couple of years it finally happened,” Beyonce explained at the time. “…We did it ’cause we’re both fans of each other and respect each other’s work.”
For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at that work — particularly the video that taught us all just how perfectly seductive the two could be.
Like that moment Beyonce was eager to prove her hips don’t lie, either.
Or that moment Shakira proved she, too, could dance like she was crazy in love (and perhaps also is able to channel a rain storm?).
But mostly, the video was all about reminding people not to waste their time with lame guys (AKA BEAUTIFUL LIARS), and instead to join forces with your girlfriends and rule the world.
Re-watch below, but fair warning: The two dancing together is definitely going to make you want to channel your inner diva — and also re-promise yourself that your ab workout will begin tomorrow.
