Small, petty, spoilt. And a complete twat. That’s how Shirley Manson has described Kanye West and his behavior in an amusing critique of his petulant Grammys display.
Kanye has, not for the first time, become a social-media punchline after he interrupted Beck’s big album of the year victory speech, then followed up with a full-scale rant at the multi-talented American singer and the Grammys in general.

“Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce. and at this point, we tired of it,” Kanye told interviewers an hour after the event.
Garbage frontlady Manson, a Scottish-born redhead with verve, style (she modeled for Calvin Klein) and seven career Grammy nominations (but no trophies) to her name, doesn’t care much for Kanye’s attitude.
“Dear Kanye West, It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry,” she writes on her Facebook page. “You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK. You make yourself look small and petty and spoilt.”

Kanye has a habit of ruining other people’s parties. In a moment so cringe-worthy it needs to be viewed from behind the sofa, Kanye stormed the stage and messed up Taylor Swift’s moment in the spotlight at the 2009 VMAs. President Obama described it as the performance of a “jackass”.

The POTUS has so-far resisted issuing a post-Grammys putdown. He needn’t bother. Manson’s got this one. “In attempting to reduce the importance of one great talent over another, you make a mockery of all musicians and music from every genre, including your own,” she continues. “Grow up and stop throwing your toys around. You are making yourself look like a complete twat. Ps.I am pretty certain Beyonce doesn’t need you fighting any battles on her account. Seems like she’s got everything covered perfectly well on her own.”
So what possibility Shirley will call Kanye for a collab anytime soon? Fat chance.
