Lil Wayne Announces ‘The Free Weezy Album’

With his Tha Carter V album up in the air, Lil Wayne is releasing a free album, The Free Weezy Album.

He announced the news on Twitter early Thursday morning, Feb. 5: “Free album. Free Weezy season. The Free Weezy Album #FWA.”

The Free Weezy Album announcement comes weeks after the release of his mixtape, Sorry 4 the Wait (Jan. 20) and ahead of the rumored DJ Drama-hosted mixtape, Dedication 6.

The release of the Tha Carter V has been delayed due to Cash Money Records allegedly not paying its flagship rapper the money owed to him. Wayne is suing Cash Money Records, including co-founder Birdman, for $51 million dollars.
