Late Saturday night, Kanye West announced that his new studio album would be called So Help Me God. We’ve already heard the album’s sentimental ballad, and now the resident banger is here.
The studio version of “All Day” premiered on Los Angeles’ Power 106 and New York’s Hot 97 on Monday afternoon (March 2), after being performed live on the Brit Awards last week. It sounds like Yeezus’ pounding percussion and visceral rage filtered through the hookier, more radio-friendly Kanye of recent years (in other words, Watch the Throne, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and the better parts of Cruel Summer). There’s also an unexpected outro of whistling and acoustic guitar, suggesting the new album could be full of wacky interludes. Get excited.
“All Day” features guest spots from Allan Kingdom and Theophilus London, and studio work from Hudson Mohawke:
