The track fit in at a Grammy ceremony that had a surprising amount of gospel influence. Pharrell’s “Happy” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” both draw directly from church music, and Beyonce also performed a rendition of the gospel classic “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” before Legend and Common took the stage.
