Money Makin’ Nique is looking to start off 2015 in a major way with the release of his upcoming EP, Bimmer Candidate. The rapper is premiering his first single, “Air Max 97,”  featuring OG Maco, here on The Juice. Check it out below:

Featuring haunting production from TM88 of 808 Mafia, “Air Max 97” is very different from Nique’s usual style, sonically. The chemistry between Nique and Maco is shown off here as well, with the rappers bouncing off of each other with a mix of Nique’s smooth delivery and Maco’s untamed energy. The chorus is an honest and repeat-worthy chant, which will have listeners hooked.

Nique described his style to Billboard as more of a “cultural perspective” and “speaking with a certain poetry that comes from vivid imagery” when compared to Atlanta’s other rising artists. On “Air Max 97,” he crafts a relatable verse about someone who is trying to make it by any means.

The release of Bimmer Candidate is a “coming out event of sorts,” Nique told Billboard. “It’s also an ode to my childhood… The BMW is a popular vehicle amongst West Indians, and being Guyanese, I always had an aesthetic appreciation for them. All the hustlers I grew up watching drove [a] BMW. It’s a moving throne, and I feel like I’m the quintessential candidate for that throne.”

The eight-song EP will feature production from the likes of Childish Major, DJ Spinz and more.
