Don Omar made his presence felt amongst the list of candidates for the forthcoming Billboard Latin Music Awards 2014. The news was made public at the Gibbson Showroom in Miami, FL, that the Puerto Rican idol “Don Omar” recognized as one of the most influential Latinos in 2013, made an incredible run as a finalist in 4 categories with his latest studio album released May 2012 “Don Omar MTO2 Presents: New Generation.”
Don Omar received an empire of awards and nominations for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, and now 2014 is next, adding several more to his list of awards earned by his success. In the recent conference, executive director of programming for Latin Billboard magazine Leila Cobo, announced that Don Omar was nominated in categories that are mostly shaped by urban artist such as; Song “Latin Rhythm” of the Year “Zumba”, “Latin Rhythm Songs” Artist of the Year, Solo : ” Don Omar ” Album “Latin Rhythm” of the Year: “MTO2 New Generation” and “Latin Rhythm Albums” Artist of the Year, Solo : “Don Omar”.
The singer along with his successful hit that led to millions of Hispanics exercising to, “Zumba”, maintained a constant presence in categories like “Hot Latin Song” and “Latin Pop Song” . His album “MTO2 New Generation”, which provides artistic opportunities for talents like Syko “El Terror”, Natti Natasha , Xavi “The Destroyer” and Yunel Cruz, which was among the most sold urban albums of 2013. Don Omar has sold millions in digital format between 2012 and 2013, due to the great success of hits like “Danza Kuduro”, “Dutty Love” and “Zumba”. Hits like this allow Don Omar to be among the nominated figures at the awards, which as usual, will take place in Miami, FL April 24, 2014.
